That is a very pretty picture! I have to admit that she looks great. I don’t think she’s done too much at all.
I don’t know. I try to put myself in her shoes and I honestly don’t know if I’d be any different. Let’s face it, she can afford to look that good at 70something, so why not? I’d have to say that it’s her choice.
I just don’t like the way she acts. That’s my problem. She does look very nice but she’s so mean to everyone that I can’t watch her on TV. I think one reason she has the plastic surgery is because it gives her publicity. The tabloids have a field day with it but getting her name out there gets her on shows and sells her books so I think she’s not so much about the looks but about making a ton of money.
I think she used to look good. Now she’s too fake. It stopped looking natural. She should have drawn the line somewhere.
It’s ridiculous that she gets this kind of attention. It’s no one’s business anyway. I feel bad for her sometimes because she doesn’t seem like a bad person and she’s not at all sleezy. She has a classy look and if she’s not careful she’ll ruin it with too many surgeries. She needs to stop now. It think she’s where she need to be already.
I hate the way she acts! But I think she looks beautiful overall. I don’t know when it’s really too much because I haven’t talked to any doctors about it and I haven’t heard any of them come out and say that Joan is taking risks. If she’s healthy, and she likes the results then it’s fine. I know she can afford it so that’s not a problem. She’s 75 and old enough to make her own decisions. I’m not going to support the nasty news about her or anyone else! I don’t buy the tabloids and never will!
The crime here is that she is given so much publicity. Who really cares about her facelifts? I mean it doesn’t change the world lol!
But, on the positive side, Joan Rivers stands up for women over 70 who want to look good. That is something to say in her favor. I don’t think any woman should ever reach that point of giving up on herself. And when you get to be her age it really makes a difference!
No one has the right to trash another person based on appearance. The people who talk her down are jealous and that’s they’re problem!
Joan Rivers is very pretty and I hope I look anywhere near that good at her age. I say she’s doing the right thing and that someday hopefully no one will even think about it. Getting a facelift will be as common as dying your hair or getting a facial.
Joan Rivers does have good looks, but it’s her attitude and those mean comments that make me dislike her. If she was nicer I’d say that she can do whatever she wants to stay young but in her case? I can’t bring myself to say I am in favor of her. She doesn’t give anyone else a break so why should anyone give her one?
Joan is the Queen of Mean these days and whatever the tabloids do to her is her own fault. If she tried to be kinder to people then some of us would stick up for her. I won’t because I just can’t see her good side. Not so far anyway
I think she’s just obnoxious and that’s all. She might be good looking but is there a man in her life? Not that I know of and I have a good idea it’s her attitude that’s keeping one away. If she had a few more wrinkles and was a lot less insulting she’d have a shot at finding someone. At this rate the only person she’s looking good for is herself.
There’s nothing wrong with the way she looks. I think she looks great. More power to her.
I also think that Joan is very pretty I wished she would act pretty. Then I’d have no problem with h her at all.
Also I read what some of the others said about women being jealous. This is so true. I have had friends who actually got mad at me when I lost 20lbs. They get this “who does she think she is” kind of attitude. When I was heavier, they called me every day and asked me to do things. Now that I”m a size 4 I go to the mall by myself. It’s lousy. I’m sure Joan’s sharp tongue comes from some of that kind of treatment.
Hey, she looks great! Why the heck not? What woman in her right mind would say no to that? If I have the money I’ll be right behind Joan at the doctor’s office!
Yeah, she looks good but does it make her happy? I’m wondering
I’m glad you asked this because I have arguments with other women all the time about Joan. I’m a big fan of hers. I think she is a very talented comedienne and she is one of the few people who make TV interesting and fun to watch. Seeing all the news programs out there that only focus on violence and horrible stories it’s refreshing to see Joan and laugh at what she says.
She’s not mean. That’s just her comedy thing. If she came out like Martha Stewart who would watch her?
I know I ranted a little here! But to answer the question I think Joan looks very good and if she wants to keep her looks that’s her right. She’s got style and I hope she’s around and looking beautiful for a long time to come!
Confession time here! Before I read the other comment I was ready to go into my usual slamming of Joan thing, but if I’m going to be honest I have to admit that I do actually feel jealous and yes, she does look awfully pretty.
Sorry to all my friends who usually hear me trash Joan Rivers, but I have to give credit where it’s due. The woman does have style, and she is good for television. And for once I’m not being sarcastic when I say that she’s probably good for plastic surgery too. I think other women her age might be bold enough to go for it after seeing Joan.
Has she had too much? Maybe. I hope she calls it the quits on the knife but she can still take care of her skin and dress well, etc. She doesn’t need to be completely wrinkle free to be pretty. No one does.
All that REALLY matters is if Joan, herself, is happy. Plastic surgery is definitely a personal decision, without any gray areas. I have watched Joan since I was a kid, and as old as she must be, plastic surgery or not, she looks terrific. In fact, she looks better now, than since I was a kid (and I have four grandchildren). She obviously has used a talented, reputable surgeon, which should be the only prerequisite. GO, JOAN!
Wow! I responded to the question out of my unbiased opinion. After reading the other responses, I would like to say, “Women, please know there are SOME women who don’t need a man to validate them and YES, can be perfectly happy without one. (For the record, I am happily married as of 26 years.) I speak on behalf of my happy, single friends. It takes great inner strength to accomplish self-satisfaction, but is is achievable. Also, for celebrities, negative publicity is publicity, just the same. THINK ABOUT IT!”
Joan is always going to be Joan. You have to admire her guts. She makes her decisions and knows what she wants. I hope I can say the same in 20 years! I say “Go Joan!” too.
I am so glad to read so many supportive comments about Joan Rivers. I know that it’s all about publicity for celebs, but it makes me sick at what some of the reporters stoop to just to get themselves noticed. So many of them just take shots at Joan and plenty of others I would like to see the tables turned some day and see how they handle so much nastiness!
As for Ms. Rivers, I like her style, her courage and think she’s one terrific comedienne. She looks beautiful. If I met her I’d tell her just that!
She’s prettier than ever. I don’t see any problem with this woman.
Thank you for the great input everyone!
As an L.A. born woman, I think I don’t even notice plastic surgery anymore. It’s not a big deal. The people who are critical of Joan need to get over it. She’s very pretty, and she’s successful. Hey, that’s why she’s not liked! GO JOAN
Any woman would love to look as good as Joan does. I can only say that I hope I look that good and have as much style as this lady when I’m 75!
I think Joan Rivers looks wonderful. Anyone who has a problem with her is only jealous and needs to get a life.
I’m 74 and have seen Joan Rivers on television my whole life. I too had a facelift, when I was 68 and really love the results. I don’t look like a tired old hag anymore when I get up in the morning. No matter how lovely my husband said I looked – I knew I was looking worn out even when I felt full of energy. What I wanted was to look as good on the outside as I felt on the inside. I got that. I don’t think I look quite as “young” as Joan, but that’s okay with me.
I think she looks beautiful and could really thank her for giving me the courage to have plastic surgery myself. It’s nice to see someone my own age who still takes good care of herself.
Sixty-Seven years old here and I had a facelift about five years ago. All I can say to any woman out there who is thinking about it – DO IT!
Joan looks beautiful. She’s got class and it shows. My husband think she’s a hottie – so what does that tell you?
I really like Joan Rivers. I always have. She’s a pretty lady and there’s no shame in looking good. I wish I could afford it I would do the same thing!
Society has become just plain mean. Why would anyone think Joan Rivers looks bad? She does not! What we are reading about in too many magazines is jealousy at work, along with women who feel so insecure about their own looks that they feel the need to be critical of others. It’s a darn shame.
What if Joan had let herself go? Didn’t care what she looked like anymore because she’s 70something? Would there still be so many nasty remarks made? No there wouldn’t! Because all the women out there who HAVE let themselves go would come to Joan’s defense. Face it, ladies we’re being just plain rotten to this woman! And, I refuse to join the group!
I hope Joan Rivers or someone who works for her reads this. She’s gorgeous and deserves our praise not our condemnation!
No, Joan did not go too far at all. What has gone too far are the awful things being said about her. I don’t know why some members of the press and even some everyday women for that matter, think it’s okay to go ahead and slam someone. My first reaction to all the negative things said about Joan is that those saying them are far from perfect themselves – and I’m not talking about their looks, either! GO JOAN!
